It is truly an honour to be able to go from reading these emails to now writing one! My name is Rayhan and I was the Head of School for a (half) day. Today has been a unique yet wonderful experience, from having philosophical discussions with my ‘assistant’ Mr. Slinger to talking about the future of AI with Mr. McCulley-Haden.
In just a few hours, I really have learned a lot about what it actually means to be the Head of School. It’s about the tiny little details in the latest merch, the railings which need to be refurbished, and looking for opportunities to grow and expand as a community. I don’t know how Mr. Slinger manages to do it; he makes me realize how incredibly lucky this school is to have such an amazing leader.

Sustainability and Connection: Highlights from Cheakamus Centre 2024
Grade 11 and 12 students experienced the wonders of the Cheakamus Centre in Squamish, BC. Through immersive activities, they explored Indigenous perspectives on sustainability and developed a deeper connection to nature. This trip was a unique opportunity for our students to learn and grow in a beautiful, natural setting.
Grade 1 Students Shine: “Light Legends” Project
Discover how our Grade 1 students embarked on a captivating journey through their ‘Light Legends’ project. From exploring natural light sources to embracing Indigenous storytelling, this initiative integrated science, creativity, and cultural learning. Through tech-savvy tools like Book Creator, students authored and published their own imaginative tales, reflecting their growth as young authors and curious learners.
Exploring the Heart of Japan: A Cultural Trip for Grades 10-12
An unforgettable trip to Japan. Grade 10-12 students explored Tokyo’s anime culture, Kyoto’s ancient temples, and Osaka’s vibrant markets. This transformative journey deepened friendships and immersed our Senior School in the rich tapestry of Japanese traditions during the 2023/24 school year.
